The study tries to answer the following three questions: What kind of subjects are included in the Norwegian and international research literature on vocational rehabilitation? What kind of theories, methods and data is this field of research rested on? What are the results produced by this field of research? We summarise the research literature of vocational rehabilitation in the period from 1990 to the present date. The summary is limited to social science, and we focus especially on analyses of recruitment to rehabilitation and rehabilitation spells with emphasis on duration analyses. The purpose of the report is to summarise studies of actual research, rather than to assess the quality of the studies. The study is funded by the Norwegian Research Council, through a special research programme on Working Life.
