The aim of the Sami Election Study is to study political participation and representation in the Norwegian Sami political system. The project comprises three sub-projects: 1) to gather data on previous elections to the Norwegian Sami Parliament, and make these data accessible; 2) to carry out a survey of voters registered in the Sami electoral register, in connection with the 2009 Sami Parliament Elections; and 3) a study of the effects of the new electoral system for Sami Parliament Elections, which will be used for the first time in 2009.
