Evaluation of the governmental action plan against forced marriages
On behalf of the Norwegian ministry of Children and Equality the Institute for social research is conducting an evaluation of the governmental action plan against forced marriages. The action plan was launched the autumn of 2007 with a plan period of four years (2008-2011). The action plan comprises 40 measures to prevent the occurrence of forced marriage and to protect the victims of such abuse.
The evaluation will assess both individual measures and the action plan as a whole and will focus on the following subjects:
• The foundation of the measures and cooperation in the Support Service
• Implementation and accomplishment of the action plan
• The effect of the plan as a whole
• The effect of individual measures
The evaluation combines qualitative and quantitative data in addition to document studies and observations constituting parts of the research.
The project is a process oriented evaluation research; information will continually be gathered throughout the plan period. In order to facilitate adjustments during the implementation of the action plan, ISF will write annual rapports containing assessments of the coordination function, the cooperation and the implementation.
