The purpose of the project is to review existing academic literature on youth gangs, which will be summarized in a written report. The focus will be on the definition of the term gang, on recruitment and motivations for young people to joing gangs, and on experiences with intervention strategies to prevent young people involved in gang activities from becoming professional criminals.
